Industry Research

I love research. It’s that simple. From high-level industry research used to shape future product development to specific deep dives that inform tightly scoped research on short timelines, I tailor my research methods to match each project.

Finding a fit: Orthodontics & Wire
Although the orthodontic industry is on the cutting edge of digital tool development for scanning, 3D printing, and custom software suites, a vast majority of dental appliances that use wire are still made by hand.
Because of this, the orthodontic market is primed to receive the D.I.Wire Pro. I worked on research Pensa Labs needed for developing an ortho-specific experience.
Project Objectives
Conduct a survey of the orthodontic market landscape to discover potential applications for the D.I.Wire Pro.
Understand the needs and use cases of prospective orthodontic users.

Taking a wide view
I contributed to every aspect of the research: study design, recruiting, field visits, moderation, analysis, and executive presentations.
Working directly with the head designer and the senior engineers, I was responsible for focusing concepts based on critical points identified during research, and gathering feedback from prospective users.
Our team integrated user needs and design objectives into hardware and software specific to orthodontic users.
